Number 4 (6-string Resonator Guitar)
Model D 1-R #1: Yes, these two pictures are the same guitar.
To me, the sound from the unfinished one was exceptional. The
dreadnaught size body gave the instrument enormous tone and
sustain. The black laquer finish was thick and dampened the tone.
The person who commissioned me to build this also wanted an
electric guitar pickup built into it, but I had to refuse since
I'm not knowledgeable in guitar electronics. The resonator guitar
parts are from Stewart MacDonald's Guitar Shop Supply. Check out
