This is the second of the "Dumpster
Guitars" I repaired/restored. (Refer to the story in the 3-D
Series 6-String page for details.) Because of the extra string tension of the 12-string head, I added a few "plugs" on the neck to join the head and neck together. The bridge was the original 6-string bridge that came with the guitar. I plugged the pin holes with mahogony plugs, then layed out and drilled the 12 new pin holes. The neck is a little narrow for a true 12-string, but my friend and co-worker loves it, since this went to him. (I'm converting one more for myself, but making it into a resonator guitar. Stay tuned.) |
