The crowd grew to 20 or 30 as we went through the streets. They were taking pictures and excitedly trying to get our attention. The more we tried to get away, the more they chased us. We, and the crowd, ran into a large department store, up several flights of stairs, and out a rooftop door. Because of the hills in Pusan, the top floor of the department store went into the first floor in another store. We ran across a catwalk between the stores and out the front door of the other store. By then we lost the crowd and made our way back to the army base.
