This teardrop shaped dulcimer is all black walnut, except for the tuning pegs, which are commercial, stained maple, viola pegs. This was my first carved peghead. I patterned her after Viola de Gamba pegheads of the Baroque period. The soundholes are based on a Celtic design I found in a Dover book of patterns. I still have this instrument.
